Today what i am going to introduce to you guys is Turkish Ice Cream or also known as Dondurma.
Not only known for its high resistance to melting in Turkey but also for being very sticky and quite tough. Due to this, people usually eat this delicacy with a knife and fork, this is something highly recommended to be done in your life-time.
Just for your information the main ingredients of this ice-cream is milk, sugar, salep (thickening agent ) and mastic( adds chewiness) .
However, though it is tougher to eat it, the turkish ice cream is still full of flavour and very creamy. Yes the ice-cream might take longer to melt when left alone, but it will still melt as fast as regular ice-cream when placed in you mouth.
I know some of you will not be so keen in the whole 'tough' and sticky ice-cream but as the saying goes " But there's always a first time for everything" and it will be worth a try.
Here is a picture of the ice cream for a better visualization.
Unfortunately, there is only one store in Singapore that currently still sells this type of ice-cream and that is Mado and the location of the store is at 3A River Valley Road (Clarke Quay).
So come on down to Mado and taste the delightful turkish ice-cream that is guarantee to brighten up your day.
